Population: Elementary age students or other students working on beginning math skills
Goals: Each song is written to specifically target increased understanding of a math concept and increased ability to complete problems independently
Description: The packet includes 5 songs that have proven to be successful in classroom settings to increase student math skills. All songs were approved by classroom teachers for language and concept explanations. Concepts include putting numbers in order (1-10), adding and subtracting using a number line, rounding (up to thousands), and multiplying by zero. The appropriate chords, lyrics, and accompanying visuals are included with each intervention. Additionally, each intervention includes a list of directions and/or adaptations and suggestions. All interventions are designed for individual use and instruction but can be adapted to fade out prompting and increase independence, for handing off to classroom teachers/parents, and for use with groups.
